The mattress is included and sits between a double and a queen across the range. The 1.4 gives you 150cm of headroom at the peak, which is the difference between sitting up to get dressed and shuffling about on your elbows.
Wedge or flat fold, and why it matters
A wedge tent hinges up at one end. It is lighter, it packs smaller and the peak headroom is at the high end of the tent. A flat fold holds the same height from one end to the other, so you can sit up anywhere in it rather than only at the top. You pay for that in weight and in money.
If it is two of you touring for a weekend at a time, a wedge is usually the right call. If you live in it for weeks, the height through the middle is what you will notice.
Will it fit your vehicle
This is the question worth answering before any other one. A rooftop tent has to sit inside your vehicle's dynamic roof capacity, which is the weight the manufacturer allows on the roof while you are driving. It is a far smaller number than the static capacity, and it is the one that matters.
Our range runs from 80kg to 120kg. The 1.4 is the lightest, so it is the one to look at first if your roof capacity is tight. Water resistant, not waterproof
Every tent here uses 350gsm ripstop poly-cotton canvas, which sheds rain while still breathing. It is water resistant. No canvas rooftop tent is fully waterproof, and any brand telling you otherwise is selling you something. Canvas that breathes is what keeps condensation off you overnight, and that is a trade worth making. There is a guide to managing condensation if you want the detail.
What comes in the box
Every tent ships with the mattress, a moisture barrier through the base, interior LED lighting, 12V and USB power, a pre-wired Anderson plug and the ladder. Most brands sell those separately. A 200W solar panel is available on four of the five models.
