Common questions
Do I need two brackets or three?
Two brackets carry the awning. Three spread the load across three mounting points instead of two, which is what a corrugated road punishes. If most of your driving is dirt, take three. If it is sealed roads and the occasional track, two is plenty.
What do the brackets fit?
They mount the awning into the side channels of the 1.4, the 1.4X and the 1.4Z, and they also fit onto the standard bracket that comes with the awning, and onto aluminium or steel roof and tub rack systems using the slotted adjustment. Either way the awning lifts off without tools. The 1.5 Pro and the 1.9 Penthouse take a different awning, which we are sourcing separately. No fabrication and no drilling.
How much does each bracket hold?
50kg per bracket. They are 304 stainless steel, 5mm and 8mm, in a textured black powder coat, and the pair weighs 3.1kg boxed.
How do I take the awning off?
A quick release push pin on each bracket. The awning lifts off without tools, so it does not have to live on the vehicle full time.
