How do I use it?

This is a snatch strap, and the stretch is the whole point of it. The strap loads up as the recovery vehicle moves off, then springs back, and that stored energy is what lifts the bogged vehicle out. A plain tow strap has almost no stretch, so it cannot do this.

  • Connect it to a rated recovery point at both ends with the rated bow shackles. Never a tow ball, never a tie down eyelet.
  • The hitch receiver gives you a rated recovery point at the tow bar.
  • Lay a damper or a heavy blanket over the middle of the strap before anyone pulls.
  • Leave a little slack, then move off gently in low range. It is a roll, not a run up.
  • Keep everyone well clear, seatbelts on, and nobody steps over a strap under tension.

Do not use it for winching, for towing on the road, or for pulling out a tree stump. Those are steady loads, and a stretching strap is the wrong tool for them.

The packaging marks the strap at 35,000lb maximum strength, roughly 15.8 tonnes. That is a breaking figure, not a working load. If you are not sure what is rated on your vehicle, ask us before you pull.
